Anónimo dijo...: Dependiendo de lo que se entienda por "viejo".
Una persona puede ser "viejo" a los 18 años y simplemente "mayor" a los 90. O estar "jubilado" a los 60.

1º Si eres "viejo" a los 18 años, no tendrás prisa para hacer las cosas, porque por razonamiento lógico te quedan bastantes años. Aunque el que es viejo a esta edad nunca conocerá la juventud, y eso tiene que ser desesperante.

2º si eres mayor, tampoco tendrás mucha prisa en hacerlo,porque lo de mayor, no necesariamente supone un recorte de años. Más bien el concepto se refiere a una persona adulta que ha adquirido la seriedad suficiente para desempeñar grandes obras o llevar a cabo le realización de grandes proyectos.
Se acuerdan de Alejendro Magno ¿no?. Pues lo de Magno tiene una etimología latina:
Magno-Magnus-Grande
Según el castellano:
"Mayor", es un comparativo de Grande.

Pues ahora apliquen la etimología a la expresión y saquen las conclusiones que mejor les parezcan.

3º Si estás "jubilado", menos. depende la edad a la que te hayas jubilado. Pero poniéndose en el caso de una jubilación por edad, 65 años, entonces tu mente ha llegado al razonamiento más tranquilo, y tus facultades se concentran en demostrar lo que puedes y vales. Y para eso se necesita meditación y paciencia. Una facultad que se desarrolla sobremanera a esta edad.
Entonces ¿dónde está la prisa?

Siguiendo con la etimología:
Jubilado-Júbilo-Alegría
Y júbilo significa alegría intensa. Despreocuparse de los problemas cotidianos, olvidarse del trabajo y celebrar lo que venga, incluso ¿por qué no?, con signos externos. Buscarse un hobby o una ocupación que lleve consigo el liberarse de todos esos lastres, sin tener que pensar ni siquiera en tus primeras necesidades, pòrque cobras una "pensión", suficiente o no, pero que ayuda, y mucho a esa liberación.

Y cuando se tiene alegría no se tiene prisa. Se busca una manifestación de ella.
Esta edad es algo así como cuando explota una estrella. ¿Ustedes vieron alguna vez explotar una estrella?. Pues es un espéctaculo maravilloso. Les aseguro que no tiene ningún desperdicio.

Entonces ¿dónde está la prisa que dice Picasso?. Fue un magnífico pintor dentro de su estilo, pero a mí, su frase, me sugiere todo lo contrario.

Claro que también habrá otras formas de verlo. Esta es la mía y da muchas satisfacciones. Se lo aseguro ¿Por qué no prueban?.
